Council Delegates to be Elected Soon

During the months of January and February 2013, delegates and alternate delegates will be elected by their service units to represent the members of the service unit in accordance with the bylaws. Please click here to review the duties of delegates and alternate delegates.

Any registered Girl Scout, 14 years of age or over, is eligible to be elected as a delegate. The number of delegates and alternates to which each service unit is entitled to is based on the number of registered girl members of the Girl Scout Movement in the service unit as of September 30 of each calendar year, according to a formula established by the board of directors. The formula is as follows:

Service Unit = 1 delegate
plus
150-299 girls = 1 more delegate
300-449 girls = 2 more delegates
450-599 girls = 3 more delegates, etc.

If you do not know what service unit you belong to, please click here to contact the community development manager who serves your county. Those elected shall represent their service unit at the Annual Meeting on April 27, 2013.

NOTE: The alternate delegate assumes the role of the council delegate if the elected delegate cannot fulfill the role.

Changes in the Program Aide Requirements

Please pay close attention to the bolded type for new requirements.

• To earn the PA award you be must be in the 6^th, 7^th or 8^th grade.
• Earn one LiA award (before attending training).
• Complete a council Program Aide Workshop.
• Work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions on Journey activities, badge activities, or other sessions . You might work with a groups at meetings, day camp or during a special council event.
